Humor: Iran Press Outdoes Themselves

One of the most interesting developments in the recent controversy over the Pope's remarks earlier this week came out today. Apparently the Pope said what he did because Israel and the U.S. told him to. As is clear from this article, the "Zionists" and the "Americans" must have submitted the comments to Benedict. If this isn't true, the daily Jomhuri Islami tells us, Benedict must be ignorant of Islam. I actually don't know which is more probable: a man who has spent most of his 70-plus years immersed in books and is now the leader of the Catholic Church being "ignorant" of Islam or Georgie W. emailing Benedict. "Hey Benedict, see if you can't slip this quote in that speech I can't understand. That'll do our country a lot of good."
